Keeping Our Promise Fundraising Dinner Sponsorship Information
Keeping our Promise Rochester is hosting a fundraising dinner and silent auction on March 18, 2020 at Temple B’rith Kodesh located at 2131 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14618 from 6-9 pm. This event raises vital funds to support our mission of providing financial, housing, employment and moral support to war-time allies and their immediate families that have served the U.S. military and our national interests in Afghanistan and Iraq.
These families are approved for resettlement to the United States under the Special Immigration Visa program (SIV). The SIV program is our government’s promise to Afghan and Iraqi interpreters and support personnel who assisted the U.S. in our wartime efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq. These brave men and women were told that they would be safely resettled in the United States if their lives were endangered as a direct result of their work with the U.S. military. The money raised from this event will be used specifically to resettle SIV recipients that choose to make the Rochester, NY area their new hometown. To date, we have resettled 312 individuals in the Rochester region.
Ellen Smith, the director of Keeping our Promise Rochester, is the 2019 recipient of the Hannah G. Solomon Award, which is awarded to an individual who has changed the lives of others through his or her leadership efforts and service. She is also the recipient of The American Spirit Award, presented to her by the Reserve Officers Assoc. for her work assisting these at-risk former military advisors. You too can create a positive change in the lives of SIV holders relocating to Rochester by becoming a sponsor for our annual dinner.
Please review the detailed information about the benefits available for each sponsorship level. We do not receive any government funds and rely on donations, charitable giving and fundraising events to carry out our mission.
We thank you in advance for your consideration and request that if you are interested in becoming a sponsor that you do so by February 28, 2020. Please know that your support makes a direct impact in the lives of these men and women who have sacrificed greatly for our country.
